We appreciate the assistance of WTSDA members and families in making this Championship a positive experience for all participants. We recognize and appreciate your support of the Association.
- All Leadership Program members, Instructors Class members, and Ko Dan Ja should complete this form indicating their availability for the Championship weekend.
- Cho Dan Bo and Black belts, in particular, are encouraged to show their pride and honor by helping to ensure we have a safe and professional event.
- Any adult member or famiily member interested in assisting are welcome to volunteer. There are a few areas in which young adults are welcome to assist.
While the Committee Chairs and some assistant positions are already assigned, there are a number of positions that need to be filled - some areas are listed below.
Pre-Championship
- administrative assistance with communication, data review, supply preparation, et al.
- Compile supply list and rent truck to transport supplies
- Identify outstanding staffing needs, fill positions, train staff, as needed
Thursday before Championship
- Load truck at storage unit and transport to Kalahari by Thursday afternoon
- Unload truck and supplement any needed supplies
- Set up event space including competition, committee, souvenir, and adjoining working areas
- Inventory souvenirs and prepare POS and registers for sales
- Inventory books and prepare for sales
- Pick up awards for transport to Kalahari by Friday morning
Friday before Championship
- Complete any remaining setup and preparations
- Transport two-way radios, as needed, test, and prepare for distribution
- Oversee staging of Creativity props
- Ensure any remaining promotion materials, souvenirs, and equipment are in place
Championship (Friday and Saturday)
- Serve as judge, scorekeeper, timekeeper
- Maintain the event space and manage layout changes (Setup team)
- Photograph and report on event
- Act as guides for Information Desk
- Serve as a runner and awards team member
- Collect, inventory, and pack supplies and equipment for transport
- Track reported medical incidents and submit reports as required
- Support book sales, scholarship fund, and souvenir committees
- Assist in providing safe, positive environment for participants
